Are Mesh Networks becoming must haves for internet connected homes? As we add more and more devices to create smarter, safer, prevention of damages, from things like water leak sensors, a standard or even premium router gets absolutely hammered by the traffic. It also keeps getting worse.

Networking is one of the must have features to your setup, its no different to how important your i9 or threadripper even. Why should you spend more in some cases on your PSU + Case, but then neglect your network with some $100-200 router, that had a dual/quad CPU in it, and the reviews were good.(Fun Fact: Most people will trust user reviews enough to dissuade or encourage a purchase. They don't care about the in depth articles/reviews from well known publications. They certainly won't read that much.
User Reviews though...aHa. I can read 100 reviews+ over 1 well reviewed article of the product who they thought was probably paid company propaganda in the first place. While it is true that the reviewers often do get sent free top of the line models, in my experience most are up front about that, and make it clear. Usually they will be told to just write a non-biased review, and to make sure to include these x positives over competitors. They are allowed to list the cons of the free Titan V they have been given because in most cases, well known publications don't review under the radar products as they do the ones getting all the masses attention. More importantly, the product makers are confident. That's right, they know what they have is a money printing machine that will have 10 must have new models in the next 10 years...IF we are still using 1s and 0s by then. The Linksys Velop will blow the reviewer away, and they know that!
Funnily enough, it's actually the more indie people, such as youtubers, twitch streamers...etc because they make their living that way, actually they are just greedy. This includes LinusTechTips, occassional shilling...no not occassional...his whole channel is a shill. But, they do go really in depth, and that is why I believe no one cares. LinusTechTips is an example of a lot of hard work though, so that channel is kind of unique...maybe an anomaly. Vast majority are biased shilling with no hard in depth work that sort of gives Linus a pass, but not really? If he didnt do that end of video shill, and refer you to biased bought and paid for reviewers/sponsorship products. Giveaway shilling -which is the most lazy way to increase exposure and rake in Benjamins. This is what greedy people do, especially the giveaways. At least you have to edit, and put together your paid review. Talk about funding or whatever, it's bs. First of all, all of this crap is already on top of the advertisement income they get. Granted, that's not enough usually to buy things constantly without sponsorships. But rest assured, their living expenses are covered by ad revenue and plane flights. Again... as long as they are not greedy. They may have forgot to tell you about the 1 million dollar home they bought or the Mercedes 2018 S Class in their garage. Look at Pewdiepie, dude makes videos like every day almost, and by the way, before he got mega rich, when did he ever mega shill? I certainly don't remember. I think he's a case of what a good youtubestreamer should be, maybe that's part of what got him to where he is today.
Most of you probably are aware, connecting to Ethernet is always the best solution, and what Ethernet cord? Aren't they all the same? No, Cat5e at a minimum, which itself is becoming obsolete, buy cat 6a, and maybe cat 7. However, a m.2 WiFi solution with a 2x2 dual band specification is probably your next best bet. But, then if you want to get the most out of your WiFi, your gonna need to disable some basic security features in your router. Which is not good. Disable all your defender and firewall settings and your still protected by your router. Surprisingly, most people do not know this. Granted, there exist routers with useless security features that you should disable along with a few other things, for increased throughtput, a better network, better ping even sometimes.
RFI and EMI. Same thing, different terminology only I think. An overclocked 1080 ti will emit more Electromagnetic Interference, the more you OC, the more EMI. Even if you don't, any graphics card will emit some. But 2 GHz+ Core - over 2 bilions of cycles a second!? That's gonna disrupt some shit. All those cores... It's why it's important to have proper shielding and why cat 5e is not obsolete because of throughtput, it's obsolete because of crosstalk. The people that say unshielded Ethernet cables are ok, and it doesn't matter, are a pain. For casual homes...maybe. But as more and more wireless signals are being transmitted in your home, it's very important to have shielded 6a cables. As for that ocd 1080 ti...keep it away from your routemodem. It seriously will disrupt things more then you think. 4g LTE will get slaughtered by it. Seriously, download an app that detects RSRP and RSRQ and put your phone close to the gpu under load. Watch as how the signal will drop, those 2 values will rise the closer it is. It can be the difference between 4g and LTE.
I noticed 1 time when all I had on hand was a cat 5 cable, but it was 100 ft long. I needed it for a 8 port switch. I had a 1080 Ti running, and it made the network piss poor for the basement. Also, if you casually mine when you don't game, your WiFi can go to shit. My orbit Mesh that's not a real true mesh network, with backhaul implemented, has fixed all of that and each device runs like if it were Ethernet connected to the modem alone. It's become annoying actually, I go over to someone's place and my devices are all slowed down even though they have 100+ Mb/s internet. Even gigabit is slow. I usually switch to LTE if that's an option. A cricket unlimited capped 3 Mb/s is actually faster and more responsive. That's unless app updating is needed. I might just switch over to AT&T unlimited so that's not an issue either. Still, it's ridiculous that general usage is faster on a 3 Mbps LTE connection then a 100-1000 Mbps connection.
We keep adding more devices, but people remain ignorant of networking, and I bet IT guys get called more, and more lately as smart homes are becoming a thing even if u didn't mean it to be smart, it inevitably is. They have to deal with people complaint about the crap connection in their 50 interconnected home. It doesn't help ISPs package your router and modem as 2 in 1. You are then required to change the NAT type to bridged if you want a Better Router...a Mesh Network. Will ISPs install those when they first set up internet? No way, I complained to the ISP once that I need a gigabit connection because the 100 plan was too slow, "I don't see why you would even need the full 100, all our customers are fine with 20 usually, 100 is more then you could ever need, I don't see what you could possibly need more for", and good luck telling 90% of the population to just change a setting and buy a $300+ network. We keep adding more and more to our networks, but we aren't upgrading them like you do when anything is bottlenecked. I'm glad I dropped out of my IT program a quarter way through due to better prospects. God bless the IT guys now...I mean wow they are so screwed, Suicide rates among that profession is going to climb.

Ram not on motherboard QVL?

Hey, so I am pairing G.Skill Aegis 8g DDR4 3000MHz with the ASROCK - AB350m Pro 4 MATX.
I saw a deal on Black Friday so I picked it up without thinking about it much, however, upon checking, the ram is not on the mobo QVL.
The general consensus upon searching the internet seems to be that I shouldn't worry, but I just want to be sure. (I understand that the QVL only contains the ones that were selectively tested.)
That being said, I did get this combination from the recommended build sidebar guides over at /pcmasterrace, so I was wondering if anyone has tried this specific combination and whether I would run into any issues.
Thanks a lot!
